Background

Prof. Anthony Amison Agbolosu is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry & Health (DAHH) in the School of Veterinary Sciences (SoVS) at the University for Development Studies, Tamale. He holds degrees in B.Sc. Agriculture Technology (Animal Science option), MPhil & Ph.D. in Animal Science (Animal Breeding and Genetics option) and Veterinary Assistant Certificate (Veterinary Technical Officer certificate) from the Animal Health & Production Veterinary College (Pong-Tamale). He has about 22 years of experience as a lecturer at UDS. He has been working with the UDS since 1998. He was one of the first 40 pioneers of the UDS. His research areas concentrate mostly on the Phenotypic and genetic characterization of indigenous Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR) and disease-causing micro-organisms especially in Northern Ghana. He has collaborated with World Vision International, Ghana; Veterinarians Without Borders, Canada and World University Service of Canada.

  2. Characterization of Fish Genetic Resources in selected waterbodies in Northern Ghana.
  3. Health and disease management of Turkeys, Guinea fowls and Ducks and other Animal Genetic Resources in Northern Ghana
